Personal

Currently I am working in the Temporal Knowledge Bases Group (University Jaume I of Castellón, as a PhD student. My work and research have been focused on the topics related to the Semantic Web where the management-representation of knowledge (mainly with ontologies) arises as a key point. Our application domain has been mainly focused on the biomedicine stuff where there exists a huge amount of resources (databases, research papers, metathesarus, taxonomies, ontologies, etc.) waiting to be exploited and integrated.

Short Bio

  • 2010: Plans to present his PhD Thesis.

  • 2009: Starts Teaching at University Jaume I (60 hours, 2 courses).

  • 2008: Research visit (5 months) to the Information Systems Group at Oxford University. PhD Co-Supervisor: Bernardo Cuenca-Grau (berg [at] comlab.ox.ac.uk)

  • 2007: Research visit (3 months) to the Information Management Group at University of Manchester.

  • 2007: Research visit (3 months) to the Tex Mining Group at EMBL-EBI (European Bioinformatics Institute).

  • 2006: Gets a FPI Doctoral Grant, Valencian Autonomous Government (2+2 years).

  • 2006: Starts the collaboration with the company Maat GKnowledge within the objectives of the Health-e-Child project.

  • 2005: Stays at the University of Concepcion (Chile) by means the EDUGI.LA II Research Grant (3 months).

  • 2004: Joins Temporal Knowledge Bases Group at Universitat Jaume I and starts his PhD studies in Advanced Computer Systems. PhD Supervisor: Rafael Berlanga-Llavorí (berlanga [at] uji.es).

  • 2004: BSc+MSc (5 years Spanish Engineering) in Computer Science at Universitat Jaume I.

  • 2003: Stays at IAC (Canary Islands Astrophysics Institute) with a Summer Scolarship within the Technological Development Department (3 months)
